10 Days Serengeti and Zanzibar Beach Safari

Upon arrival in Arusha, you’ll be met and transferred to Arusha Serena Hotel, an idyllic country-house-style lodge nestled on the slopes of Mount Meru beside Lake Duluti—an ideal pre- or post-safari stay. The rest of the day is free to relax before your adventure begins in the morning. Depending on your arrival time, you may take on optional activities such as exploring Arusha National Park on two wheels—a unique way to spot wildlife and get closer to nature. Alternatively, explore Kilimanjaro from above on a scenic flight to witness magnificent views of its peaks, glaciers, and nearby wonders, all from a window seat.

After a delightful breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Arusha Airport for your light aircraft flight to the Serengeti. Your base for the next two nights is Lemala Ewanjan, an authentic intimate luxury tented camp tucked away in a secluded part of the game-rich Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti.

From your tented lodge, lose yourself in the raw pulse of Serengeti’s untamed wilderness over the next three unforgettable days. Explore the endless savannahs that stretch as far as the eye can see. Enjoy exciting game drives, or memorable walking safaris (optional), spotting astonishing wildlife. Later, relish the day around a roaring campfire, sharing tales of the day’s sightings with rangers and your fellow travelers.

The Serengeti is one of Africa’s legendary parks and home to incredible wildlife, including the Big Five, big cats and a prolific birdlife with over 500 species recorded, such as the ostrich, hornbill, African fish eagle and the secretary bird. Arrive between June and October and you’ll witness the iconic Great Migration, when over two million wildebeest traverse the plains in search of fresh grass, featuring dramatic predator-prey interactions. Embark on morning and afternoon game drives exploring the open plains in search of wildlife, before returning to camp for dinner.

Today, wake up early for a light pre-breakfast before embarking on an optional hot-air balloon safari for a whole new perspective of the Serengeti. You’ll watch as the balloon is prepared, then take flight to drift above the vast savannah as the sun rises and wildlife roams below. After landing and disembarking the balloon basket, spend more time exploring the region and spotting a vast array of wildlife, marking your final day in the Serengeti. The day ends with a sundowner in hand as the sun slips below the horizon.

What better way to relax after an action-packed safari in Tanzania than with a beach escape in Zanzibar! After a sumptuous breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the Serengeti airstrip for your flight to the spice island of Zanzibar, where you will spend the next five nights on pure barefoot luxury. Your base is the idyllic Breezes Beach Club and Spa, a family-owned beach resort along the pristine and unspoilt Bwejuu-Paje Beach, off the coast of Tanzania.

Zanzibar is famed for its spectacular stretches of white sand beaches and turquoise waters containing multi-coloured coral reefs. Spend your unforgettable days lounging by the pool or on the beach, soaking up the views, enjoying a sunset dinner, savoring fresh seafood while listening to the gentle waves. You may want to head to the Frangipani Spa, to try the ‘Après Safari Treatment’, designed for those looking to recuperate after an adventure-filled safari. You can also explore Stone Town and Omani forts, sultan’s palaces, as well as Freddie Mercury’s former home.

After days of a fun-filled adventure in the Serengeti and Zanzibar, you’ll transfer back to Zanzibar Airport for your departure flight home.
