Day 2:

Game drive and boat cruise on the Victoria Nile

After a sumptuous breakfast, head to the Nyamsika Plateau on the northern section for a sunrise game drive. Look out for four of the big five (elephant, buffalo, lions, and leopard). Other animals include hyenas, giraffes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, bohor reedbuck, bush duikers, and the shy sitatunga.

In the afternoon, you will embark on a boat cruise along the placid Victoria Nile as you go upstream to the base of the falls. Spot a diversity of wildlife including hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and numerous bird species. The boat stops just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron,” making it convenient for you to capture stunning photos. Return to the lodge for a peaceful evening surrounded by nature.

Day 3:

Boat cruise along the Nile Delta

After a delightful breakfast, embark on another thrilling boat cruise along the Nile Delta to spot a variety of wildlife, reaching the point where the Nile deposits waste before joining the Albert Nile.

After, return to the lodge for lunch and an evening game drive around Paraa or visit the top of the mighty falls to view the water cascade. Later, gather around a lively campfire with other travelers for an evening filled with stories and laughter.

Day 4:

Chimpanzee Tracking in Budongo Forest

After a sumptuous early breakfast, you will transfer to the Budongo Forest head office by ferry for a safety briefing and then be led by an experienced ranger guide into the forest to search for a troop of habituated chimpanzees.

You will spend between 1 and 4 hours searching, but after finding them, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour to observe them feeding, grooming, playing and jumping from tree to tree. We recommend carrying bottled water and some snacks.

Expect to be impressed by the variety of life in this forest. Budongo Forest features the largest collection of over 100-year-old mahogany trees in East Africa, standing up to 80m high. While exploring, you’ll encounter various primates, rare plants, shrubs, and birds.

Day 5:

Return to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, you will check out and start the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Depending on your private arrangement, you can embark on a city tour or visit the UWEC Zoo, botanical gardens or Lake Victoria in Entebbe to conclude your exciting trip.
