8 Days Wildebeest Migration Safari

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be met and transferred to Hemingways Nairobi, an exclusive luxury boutique hotel situated in the lush and peaceful suburb of Karen—one of Nairobi’s premier locations, far from the bustle of the city center. Here, explore the city’s intriguing attractions if you have time, or simply enjoy a very relaxing and comfortable stay, keeping you refreshed and ready for your adventure the next day.

After a sumptuous breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Wilson Airport for a light aircraft flight to Musiara Airstrip north of Masai Mara. On landing, you’ll be transferred to Governors’ Camp, an iconic, luxury permanent tented camp set on the banks of the Mara River offering a classic Kenya safari experience in a pristine setting.

Here, spend three days exploring the world-famous Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. During the Migration season, watch thousands of wildebeest thunder across the plains and brave crocodile-infested rivers, creating not just an incredible sight but one of the world’s most dramatic spectacles.

The guides are highly experienced and qualified, offering exceptional game drives and bush walks. You’ll be driven daily around the reserve, positioning you at the best vantage points for the infamous river crossings and thrilling wildlife action. You can also add a scenic hot air balloon flight (optional) over the Mara plains to really appreciate its scale and gain a unique bird’s-eye view of the river and wildlife below.

You have three days to explore Mara North, Olare Motorogi, and Mara Naboisho conservancies. These adjoining privately managed wildlife areas have strict vehicle limits, ensuring a crowd-free safari experience. They offer exclusive night drives, off-road driving, walking safaris, incredible big cat sightings and authentic cultural interactions. Explore the wilderness in an open-sided 4×4 vehicle and enjoy sundowners while watching a spectacular sunset over the African wilderness. You can also add a half-day safari photoshoot where an in-house photographer uses their expertise to capture your safari memories.

After an early game drive or bush walk, you’ll return to camp for a delicious breakfast and then be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi and departure.
