After arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be picked up and transferred to Hemingways, a mere 40 minutes from the airport. This exclusive boutique hotel is set between Nairobi National Park and the foot of the Ngong Hills in the quiet neighbourhood of Karen, making it a blissful start to your East African adventure.

From here, you have the opportunity to explore Nairobi’s top tourist attractions including Nairobi National Park, which offers a unique game-viewing experience featuring wildlife set against the backdrop of a city skyline. Stopping by the Giraffe Centre and the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage is also a great addition to this excursion. After, you can enjoy the luxury amenities of the hotel.

On day 2, you’ll be transferred to Wilson Airport for a light aircraft flight to the Tortilis Camp airstrip, tucked away on a private concession bordering Amboseli National Park.

Tortilis Camp is an eco-conscious luxury tented camp perched along a serene hillside, shaded by a forest of Acacia tortilis. It features rustic elegance, cultural connection, and untamed wilderness beneath Africa’s most iconic peak. While staying here, enjoy buffet-style meals, thrilling game drives, sundowners, guided nature walks, and uninterrupted views of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro.

On the final day, you’ll enjoy a delicious bush breakfast, set in a nearby clearing surrounded by wilderness, before you head out to visit the Amboseli Elephant Research Centre to learn more about conservation.

After a sumptuous breakfast, you’ll fly to Keekorok Airstrip in the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve and be transferred to Sand River Masai Mara where you’ll spend three nights in authentic tented lodgings. Sprawling out along the secluded overgrown riverbanks of the Sand River, the intimate camp promises year-round game viewing, scheduled game drives and excellent wildlife sightings.

While here, you’ll have exclusive access to the seasonal wildebeest migration and explore diverse terrains on guided bush walks, navigating open grasslands dotted with zebras and impalas, as well as riverine forests where hippos and crocodiles wade through the waters.

Return to camp after your excursions and relax on your private deck while a dedicated butler caters to your preferences and enjoy private dining for an evening of romance under the stars.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Keekorok Airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport, where you’ll take a connecting transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. From there, you’ll fly to Kigali International Airport, and be transferred to The Retreat by Heaven, a great place to start any Rwanda safari. Enjoy a one-night layover at Kigali‘s premier boutique hotel and spend the day exploring the city or treat yourself to the hotel’s wellness offerings including a full-body massage and a yoga class.

This is the final stretch of your East African holiday. The next day, you’ll be transferred to the magnificent Virunga Lodge, an excellent starting point for gorilla treks. It is set on a stunning hillside boasting panoramic vistas of the Virunga Volcanoes and the beautiful lakes of Ruhondo and Burera.

While here, you’ll go on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience and meet a lively troop of golden monkeys traversing the steep slopes of bamboo forests. After spending time with these fascinating creatures and capturing heartwarming moments, you’ll enjoy an experiential sundowner, engage with conservationists and explore the public exhibits at the centre. After a final morning in Virunga, you’ll be transferred to Kigali International Airport to catch your flight home.
