Day 1:

Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi

This unforgettable 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Uganda safari allows you to fly to Kigali and meet your private guide, rather than flying to Entebbe International Airport, which requires a long 8 to 9-hour drive. Therefore, you will be met and transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda in preparation for gorilla trekking the next day. The 4 to 5-hour drive to Rushaga Sector is very scenic, taking you through the dramatic landscapes of the “Land of a Thousand Hills” to the breathtaking scenery of the “Pearl of Africa.”

You’ll cross the border into Uganda via the Katuna or Cyanika borders, stopping in Kabale town or Kisoro respectively. You can opt to stop for lunch at Lake Mutanda, a freshwater lake in southwestern Uganda nestled in the foothills of the Virunga Mountains. It offers dramatic, panoramic views of Mount Gahinga, Mount Sabinyo, and Mount Muhabura as you enjoy your delectable meal.

Day 2:

Gorilla trekking

After an early breakfast, you’ll transfer to the park headquarters for a mandatory briefing. You are advised to carry enough drinking water and a lunch box. You can also hire a porter at a cost of 15-20 US dollars to help carry your bag and give you a hand in slippery or steep parts of the forest. You’ll be distributed into groups of eight and assigned to a gorilla family. Led by expert trackers and rangers, you’ll search for these majestic creatures and spend one hour in their presence after finding them. You are reminded to carry rain gear, considering that Bwindi is a tropical rainforest.

After your unforgettable encounter, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi where you’ll swim in Uganda’s most beautiful lake or paddle a canoe to explore the surrounding communities. Alternatively, you can simply relax at the lodge and in the afternoon, you will embark on a guided village walk for a cultural encounter with the Batwa people.

Day 3:

Back to Kigali

After breakfast, you will either be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or continue exploring Uganda’s southwestern region depending on your onward travel plans. While in Kigali, you can explore the city and visit the Genocide Memorial Site.

The End of the 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking safari from Kigali is limited to a maximum of six travelers per vehicle, and a 30% deposit is required on confirmation.
Travelers with special needs may be required to pay an extra fee for trekking facilitation.
