Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met and transferred to Rivertrees Country Inn, a charming, privately owned countryside retreat nestled between Kilimanjaro and Arusha, on the banks of the Usa River, just 15 minutes from the foothills of Mt Meru.

After a delightful breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Tarangire National Park and your base for the night is Ang’ata Tarangire Camp, an intimate eco-friendly tented camp nestled in the heart of the park, overlooking the Tarangire River. Its excellent proximity to core wildlife viewing areas makes it the perfect place to start your explorations.

Tarangire National Park is a significant part of the migratory movement of elephants during the dry season and is second only to Ngorongoro Crater in concentration of wildlife. Enjoy viewing wildlife on game drives usually around the swamps in the south and east. You’ll see famous herds of elephants, sometimes up to 300 strong, along with buffalo, wildebeest, zebra and eland. Also notice the iconic squat baobabs as you drive through.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Ngorongoro highlands for Crater tour, and you’ll stay at Neptune Ngorongoro Lodge, one of the finest and most affordable luxury lodges located on the main road from Karatu to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Today is focused on exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, which is believed to have formed some 2 million years ago. It features an astonishing variety of landscapes including grasslands, forests, peaks, craters, valleys, rivers and shimmering lakes painted pink by flamingos. The world-famous Olduvai Gorge, where some of our earliest human ancestors once hunted and gathered is also a fascinating place to discover.

After a delicious breakfast, you will be transferred to the Serengeti and camp at Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp, an exclusive yet affordable retreat in the rolling grass plains in the heart of the park, offering excellent year-round wildlife viewing. Your game drive begins immediately upon reaching the lodge and continues for the rest of the day through the phenomenon landscapes from the sea of waving grass to the rocky kopjes, the perfect hiding places for lions and leopards.

Enjoy spotting resident wildlife, but the area also sees massive herds of the Great Migration pass through during their seasonal movements, typically peaking around May. The Serengeti ecosystem supports some of the most plentiful mammal populations left anywhere on earth, and the animals here seem bigger, stockier, stronger, and studier than elsewhere in Africa. After exploring the plains, return to the camp before dark for overnight.

After breakfast, you can go for your final game drive in the Serengeti before being transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home, or you can extend your adventure to Zanzibar Island.
