Day 2-4:

Flight to Lewa Private Conservancy

After a sumptuous breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Wilson Airport for a light aircraft flight to Lewa Conservancy, one of the leading places to witness the highly endangered black rhino. You will check in at Lewa Wilderness Lodge, an iconic safari lodge set on the edge of the wildlife-rich conservancy.

After lunch and settling, you will take some rest for the early afternoon, before high tea, then embark on your first game drive to spot a plethora of wildlife and bird species, including all of Africa’s “Big Five”. Later, enjoy a drink around the roaring fire as you share stories with fellow guests after the day’s adventures. Dinner is served around the long communal table, serenaded by the sounds of the African night.

On day 3, you will have a thrilling morning game drive after a light breakfast. You can choose to enjoy a camel safari or an immersive guided walking safari led by a knowledgeable Maasai guide—offering the chance to watch wildlife and connect with nature more intimately than in a traditional safari vehicle. You can spot a rhino or elephant grazing in the morning light, or follow the tracks of a leopard on foot. For dinner, you can dine privately on the pool deck, or out in the bush on request.

On day 4, you will have a pre-dawn cup of coffee and an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active before returning to camp for a full hot breakfast. Later, you will embark on an immersive cultural experience with the Maasai by visiting a local village or school.

In the early evening, you can go on another game drive or explore on foot or on a horseback safari. Finish the fabulous day with sundowners overlooking the magical terrain and return to camp for another delicious dinner.

Day 5-6:

Fly to Namunyak Conservancy – High Tea & Game Drive

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip to board your flight north to Namunyak Conservancy. En-route to the airstrip, you may stop at the Lewa Crafts Center to see the craftsmanship first-hand—weaving carpets and designing and creating furniture from salvaged acacia wood—or visit the HIV/AIDS orphanage, clinic and school if time permits.

Located in the heart of Samburu country, the pristine Namunyak Conservancy serves as a critical refuge for diverse wildlife including reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, leopards, African wild dogs and lions as well as rare and endangered species. Its arid landscape offers stunning views of the Mathews Range, which is deeply tied to the sacred sites of Samburu culture.

Upon arrival, you will enjoy a game drive to Sarara Camp, an ultra-luxurious, community-driven eco-lodge set in the canopy of a forest. After the delicious high tea and getting settled you will explore the conservancy for wildlife great and small before resting beneath a blanket of stars.

On day 6, embark on an exclusive cultural experience of the Sanburu on foot at the Singing Wells and then visit the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, a pioneering community project that rescues orphaned elephants and supports the local tribespeople. Crown your cultural immersion with sundowners before heading back to the lodge for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

You will touch down at Naboisho Conservancy, a privately managed concession and be transferred to the secluded Mara Nyika Camp, tucked under a canopy of umbrella thorn trees.

The exclusive camp offers unparalleled wildlife viewing with quick access to the reserve, making it an ideal base for any Mara safari. Upon arrival and settling in, you will embark on an afternoon game drive followed by a delightful meal and overnight stay.

On day 8, embark on day and night game drives to experience the vast array of wildlife species in this exclusive, low-density conservation area on the edge of the Masai Mara. Your guide can assist with photography.

On day 9, you will take a spectacular hot air balloon ride above the plains as you observe wildlife and the sun breaking the horizon at dawn. After landing, enjoy a full hot breakfast and champagne in the heart of the wild. In the afternoon, explore the plains on game drives until sunset before returning to camp for your evening meal and slumber at Mara Nyika.
