Detailed 6 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari

Day 1:

Arrival in Arusha

After arriving in Arusha, you’ll be met and transferred to Kibo Palace Hotel, a 4-star luxury property situated along Nyerere Road, a 15-minute walk from the city center and a 45-minute drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA). It offers a refreshing pool and views of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Spend the rest of the day relaxing ahead of your safari adventure.

Day 2:

Transfer to Lake Manyara

After a sumptuous breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Lake Manyara on a 2-hour scenic road trip past rustic villages and coffee, maize, and banana plantations. Finally, you’ll arrive in time for lunch at Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge, a rustic-luxury lodge perched on the rim of the Great Rift Valley, offering sweeping views of the lake, Mount Meru, and even Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day.

Embark on your first game drive after lunch, where you’ll spot diverse wildlife including buffaloes, hippos, elephants, flamingos and the tree-climbing lions that the park is famous for. You can also enjoy the stunning landscape of the park, which offers a mix of dense forest, small open plains and lush waterside grasses.

Day 3:

Transfer to Serengeti

After a delicious breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Serengeti National Park on a scenic 5-hour drive north through the highlands, arriving at Embalakai Camp in time for lunch. The camp offers intimate and luxurious safari experience with a focus on eco-consciousness and comfort.

Serengeti, one of Africa’s legendary parks, hosts a vast array of wildlife with a particularly high concentration of big cats. The park also boasts some of the richest birdlife in the region with over 500 species recorded, including ostrich, hornbill, African fish eagle and the secretary bird. Spend the afternoon exploring the open plains on a game drive, and then return to camp for dinner.

Day 4:

All Day Serengeti

Today, you’ll embark on a scenic hot air balloon flight that reveals a whole new perspective of the Serengeti. Wake up early and watch the balloon being inflated, and then take to the skies, drifting above the plains while you watch wildlife roaming below and the sun casting a bright pink-orange haze across the vast savannah.

Later, you’ll enjoy breakfast and search for the big cats, rhinos, buffalos and giraffes that inhabit the vast open plains. A delicious picnic lunch will be served while you admire the monumental panorama and seemingly endless horizon.

Day 5:

Transfer to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic 4.5-hour road transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area while keeping an eye out for wildlife as you traverse the vast Serengeti plains.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch along the way before heading into the legendary Ngorongoro Crater for an afternoon game drive. This 12-mile-diameter, 600-metre-deep volcanic caldera hosts a vast array of wildlife including the Big Five and the critically endangered black rhino, offering the quickest Big Five viewing on any Tanzania safari.

After an adventurous day exploring the ancient bowl, you’ll drive to your colonial-style Oldeani Mountain Lodge set on a picturesque hill above the quiet town of Karatu, offering spectacular views onto Mount Oldeani and the Ngorongoro Crater Rim.

Day 6:

Departure

After a delightful breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Arusha on a 3-hour scenic road trip. Arrive for lunch before your onward flight.
